EXHIBITION: Nina Sage- ‘The Printed Landscape’

  • Haddenham Arts Centre 20 High Street Haddenham, CB6 3XA England (map)

Nina Sage Printmaker

Nina’s inspiration comes from her lifelong love of the natural world and her experiences working in the water industry as a professional ecologist. It is no surprise that water and the life within it are a recurring theme in her work and many of her prints feature the wildlife habitats and species she worked with in the field. Nina creates prints that are rooted in the landscapes that mean so much to her.

Linocut is her preferred method of working and she felt an immediate affinity with the technique and process from the first moment she carved her first block, finding it hugely satisfying to create a beautiful image from such a simple surface. She utilises both reduction and multi-block methods, often combining both to get the result she is aiming for. More recently Nina has embraced the challenge of working with wood, making a series of woodcut seascapes, local scenes and wildlife.
