Learn the art of bold mark making to capture vibrant light and colour in soft pastel.
Your talented local tutor Claire McGinley works outside whenever possible in all seasons documenting what she sees, feeling the land and layers of time as she creates.
This workshop will be held indoors and is suitable for all abilities. Claire will encourage and teach you whatever stage you are at, even if you have never picked up a pastel before!
You will explore mark making and gradually build up some small images before progressing to a final piece.
Working from an existing sketch or part of a sketch you will learn how to translate it into pastel. If you have no sketch of your own, images will be available to work from.
A variety of papers to work on will be available to purchase for a small cost, but bring your own if you have something you would like to use.
Some spare pastels will also be available.
