All workshops take place at Haddenham Arts Centre, maximum of five participants, bring a packed lunch or buy lunch in the arts centre café (special workshop offer including homemade soup or daily special)
Day 1, Screen printing
Printing on fabric using paper stencils. All materials provided.
Day 2, Free machine embroidery
Illustrate your printed fabrics with your own design using the sewing machine and threads as drawing tools.
For day 2 you will need to bring
A sewing machine that can be adapted for free motion embroidery by dropping or covering the feed dogs.
A free motion foot for your machine, sometimes known as a darning foot. A universal version is available if you can’t find a branded one.
Spare bobbin spools and general sewing kit
Sewing machine needles – I use 100/16 most of the time or jeans needles.
Threads; any you have. There will also be a selection of thread available at the workshop.
Fabric provided will include a piece large enough to cover a 30cm drum lightshade. If you choose to make a shade kits are available to buy during the workshop at an additional cost of £15.
