CONTENT
Capture the enchanting atmosphere of Venice and improve your watercolour skills painting with Artist Ian McManus.
LEARNING
Ian will demo the stages of a painting and watercolour techniques which you will then use yourself during the day to create your own painting in a vibrant and loose watercolour style, One to one guidance and support is given to help your painting skills progress and loosen up your style to achieve dynamic artworks.

Fees are non refundable, however transfer to another workshop up to 14 days prior to course may be arranged, cancellation 14 days prior to class forfeits fee.
Costs - £45 per workshop
Age - Adult
Group size - 8 - 10 to allow for lots of personal guidance
Ability - Mixed level - although some experience even if just a little is helpful as the tutor covers lots of technique but does not cover very basic knowledge during a general workshop so it would not be appropriate for an absolute beginner, although if you have a have a go attitude then do contact the tutor direct to discuss.
Time - workshops run 10.30 - 3 pm, please arrive between 10.15 and 10.30 for prompt start. Lunch is not provided but can be purchased from the lovely on site cafe or bring your own packed lunch.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Old Cloths or an Apron
Pencil & rubber
Watercolour paint – (any brand but try to avoid academy or student quality)
Watercolour brushes – various sizes (round point small, medium synthetic and medium and large size, natural hair )
Water colour Paper - Rough or Not Surface type (stretched on a board)
Palate, a deep well one if possible
water pots ( 2 good sized ones are best)
kitchen roll and small spray bottle (if you have one)
Spare pieces of paper to test colours and do experiments
Inspiration and reference material are provided by the tutor.
PROGRESS
This monthly workshop is part of a sequence of monthly watercolour workshops being introduced in 2022 on the first Tuesday of each month at Haddenham Art Centre, Cambridgeshire. Workshops hosted by friendly, experienced professional artist and tutor Nicky Hunter or fellow professional artist Ian McManus.
The aim of the workshops is to build continuity so students can attend regularly to progress their watercolour skills with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable artist and tutor. No obligation to attend all sessions but drop in and try a couple of months or book every month and experience your skill and competence grow within a friendly, familiar group setting in a friendly, inspiring creative environment.
